Join us for an overview on corporate giving from volunteers helping with identification, to stewardship how-to, and examples of mutually impactful partnerships from Denise Ciccarelli of the College of Charleston.

Doors will open at 11:30 with a boxed lunch, and the program will run from 12pm - 1pm.

 
Denise joined the College of Charleston in November 2010.  Since that time, she has lead the College’s efforts to facilitate and grow mutually beneficial relationships between corporate and private foundation partners.  She has worked closely with countless corporations, including: Boeing, Google, Facebook, Wells Fargo, Mercedes, BMW, and Michelin. A tangible result of the CFR effort was $25M of new commitments in the College’s largest Comprehensive Campaign $137M. During her eight year tenure as Director of Development for the MUSC College of Nursing she has raised over $38M including the university’s largest corporate contribution valued at $13.5 million.  Denise built a pipeline of donors that helped MUSC successfully complete their $357 million Capital Campaign. 
 
Denise is a University of Georgia Alumnus and served as the founding President of the Lowcountry UGA Alumni Chapter. She is a graduate of the Harvard’s Management Development Program, Furman’s Diversity Leadership Institute, Leadership Charleston and the Medical University of South Carolina’s Trustees Leadership Academy. She is in the James E Clyburn Fellowship Class of 2017.  In 2008 Denise was awarded the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation.
 
Denise worked for five years fundraising and marketing for the South Carolina Aquarium.  She helped implement a state-wide Community Relations and Capital Campaign that raised over $72 million. Denise then served for several years as the Director of Development for Crisis Ministries. In this role, she developed grassroots fundraising programs that generated $1.75 million.  She also restructured the food rescue program and developed business partnerships that generated over 50,000 pounds of consumables a month.
 
Denise has also worked in historic preservation at prestigious organizations such as Historic Savannah Foundation, The Preservation Society of Charleston, and Historic Charleston Foundation.  
 
Denise has lived in Charleston since 1993.  She is member the Citadel’s School of Nursing Advisory Board, a Sustainer in the Junior League of Charleston, a member of Grace Episcpal Church’s Stewardship Committee and volunteers for a variety of worthy community organizations. Denise’s husband, John is a local architect.  They have two daughters, Theresa (19) and Laura (17).
